What we do

In the Book of James in the Bible, we are told to pray for one another for healing. Our prayer volunteers enable the 'two or more gathered together in His name', enabling Jesus to be especially powerful and present in their midst. While we may not see or know it, every time we pray for healing, God heals us in some way.

We use formal/pre-written prayers when praying for one another, so the old man/lower nature/flesh self that the Bible talks about, doesn’t interfere or get us sidetracked.
Have someone you know who you can sense God’s presence within them? Contact them so you can prayer with/for each other for healing. If you don't have a person like this, we're here for you.

People often ask, what is healing? Since no one knows what today or tomorrow will bring, it’s our belief that healing can be best defined from words taken from the Apostle Paul. Healing is learning to be content regardless of life’s circumstances. If we are a Christian, our life has been purchased by God, God owns us, and God is our being. Therefore, by an act of our will, in faith, we know and believe that God is mysteriously causing all things to work together for our ultimate good. As the Bible says, God's ways are not always known to us.

Should painful thoughts, feelings and/or emotions bubble up from the depths of our being during or following prayer time, this is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s our belief at Prayer for Healing Ministries, having worked in and studied Christian Healing for over four decades, that God often allows stored wounds, pains, and hurts to surface from the depths of our un/subconscious, and enter our conscious awareness, where we: 1) acknowledge them, 2) f e e l where they are in the body, and 3) give them to God, like a present, knowing by an act of faith that He does take them, whether it feels like it or not.
